He earned his Master’s in General Surgery (1992) and served as faculty at CMCH Ludhiana. Trained in laparoscopic surgery (FMAS, 2007), bariatric surgery (Fellowship, Taiwan, 2015), and endo-bariatric procedures (2022), he is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (USA). He has led surgery departments in India and Dubai and specializes in bariatric, advanced laparoscopic, colorectal, hernia, and emergency surgeries. He has published extensively on metabolic surgery, T2DM remission, and rare surgical cases.

Dr. James Zachariah Pulimuttil is an award-winning surgeon with over 33 years of post-specialization experience and 35 years of surgical excellence. After earning his Master’s degree in General Surgery, he joined CMCH Ludhiana as faculty, training future surgeons. He later led the Department of General and Laparoscopic Surgery at CARE Hospital, India, for six years. In 2014, he moved to Dubai, bringing his expertise to a renowned JCI-accredited hospital, where he has served for over a decade, including as Head of Department. From 2015 to 2016, he completed a prestigious Bariatric Fellowship at Min-Sheng General Hospital, Taiwan.
